MEPCO Reference Number — Your 14-Digit Key
Every MEPCO connection has one 14-digit reference number. It is the only thing you need to view, download and pay your bill online — here is exactly where it lives and how to get it back if it is lost.
Where the reference number is printed
Pick up any MEPCO bill — this month's or an old one — and look at the top portion, in the Consumer Detail box. The first line of that box is labelled “Reference No”, and beside it is your number. It is printed in digit groups with spaces, in a pattern like:
Illustration of the format only — not a real account number.
- 14 digits — these are what you type into the checker.
- A letter at the end (such as U or R) — it is part of the printed code, but online you enter digits only, without spaces and without the letter.
- It does not change. Your reference number stays the same month after month for the same connection, so once you have it, save it — in your phone's notes, or with the “save my number” option in our bill checker, which keeps it only in your own browser.
Try it — check your bill
Type the 14 digits (no spaces, no letter) and your bill opens on the official PITC page.
If that tab shows the PITC search page instead of your bill, copy this number and paste it there: ✓ Copy ho gaya
Or open the official PITC search page and paste it there — or go via the official MEPCO website.
Lost your bill? How to recover the number
- Check your payment apps. If you have ever paid this bill through JazzCash, Easypaisa or a bank app, the payment history shows the reference number you paid against.
- Look for an old bill or a photo of one. Any month works — the number is the same. Many people keep a photo of their bill in their phone gallery or WhatsApp.
- Ask whoever pays the bill. A family member or tenant who has paid before will have it in their app history.
- Contact MEPCO. Call 118 or 0800-63726, or visit your MEPCO sub-division office with your CNIC and address — staff can retrieve the reference number for your connection.
Reference number vs consumer ID
| Reference number | Consumer ID | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 14 digits (+ a letter on paper) | 10 digits |
| Printed | First line of the Consumer Detail box | Just below the reference number |
| Used for | Checking, downloading and paying the bill | Also accepted for checking and paying the bill |
Either one opens the same bill. If your reference number is hard to read on a faded bill, try the consumer ID instead.
