How to Check If Your MEPCO Bill Is Paid or Not

Paid the bill but want peace of mind — or the next bill seems to show it unpaid? Here are the reliable ways to confirm a payment, in order of speed.

1. Look at your payment app or bank history

The fastest confirmation is where you paid. In JazzCash or Easypaisa, open Transaction History and find the bill payment — a completed entry with a transaction ID means the provider accepted and forwarded your payment. In a bank app or internet banking, check the bill payment / 1Bill history or your account statement for the debit marked with your reference number. Keep a screenshot of that entry.

2. Check the bill itself on the PITC page

Open your current bill online. The PITC bill page shows your recent billing and payment information, including whether the previous bill stands paid. If last month's bill is marked paid and only the new month's amount is payable, everything is in order. Note the timing: a payment made after this month's bill was printed will only reflect in the next bill — the current one may still show the older position.

3. Read next month's bill

Your next paper or online bill settles the question finally. If the previous bill was paid, the new bill bills only the new month (plus any genuine balance). If it was not received, the unpaid amount reappears as arrears — usually with the late-payment surcharge added. Comparing the “previous balance / arrears” line month to month is the ground truth.

4. Ask MEPCO directly

With your reference number and payment receipt ready, call the MEPCO helpline 118 or 0800-63726, or visit your sub-division office. Staff can see the payment status against your account and tell you whether the money reached MEPCO or is stuck with the payment channel.

Paid, but showing unpaid? Do this

  1. Collect your proof. The app/bank transaction ID, date, time and amount — or the stamped copy/receipt if you paid cash.
  2. Check for the usual causes. A mistyped reference number sends the money to the wrong account; a payment after the new bill was printed simply has not appeared yet; channel delays of a day or two do happen around the due date rush.
  3. Contact the payment provider first if the reference number was wrong or the amount was deducted without a completed status — they control the reversal.
  4. If the provider confirms payment but MEPCO has no record, register a complaint through the CCMS portal or at your MEPCO office, attaching the proof. Payments with valid proof are adjusted — never pay the same bill twice in cash while a trace is running.
Do not ignore a genuinely unpaid bill: arrears grow with surcharges, and repeated non-payment can lead to disconnection. If money is tight, contact MEPCO early — see the contact page for the right channels.

Proof worth keeping every month

  • Transaction ID and a screenshot of the success screen (app payments).
  • The SMS or email receipt from your bank or wallet.
  • The stamped bill copy or printed receipt (cash payments).
  • A saved PDF of each month's duplicate bill, so amounts can be compared later.
